Tia Sanctuary
Tia the Thirteen-Lined Ground Squirrel came to us via Scritches Rat and Rodent Rescue in 2011. She had been very well cared for, with a lady who sadly had to give up her normal and exotic animals due to health conditions.
Tia was extremely shy and needed her environment to be kept with a familar layout. Tia lived with us until her death from natural causes on the 7th January 2016. It was lovely to see her reach such a good age.
Further Details
As Tia is blind, we agreed to take her on as a permanent resident and not put her through the strain of being rehomed again. Tia is understandably quite shy, and benefits from a smaller cage where she is comfortable with a familar layout. She is a lovely girl, but since handling seems to stress her we keep this at a minimum just to keep an eye on her health.
