Rosa Rehomed
Rosa and her family came to us in a mixed group after the owner became overwhelmed. Rosa has had a further litter in rescue and this group has been split into smaller same-sex groups which can be homed in pairs or larger, depending on tank size and needing to ensure no gerbil is left alone.

All 12 of these gerbils were successfully homed to different loving new homes. Gerbils make excellent family pets.
Further Details
This group includes Rosa, Primrose and Lavendar and 2 younger daughters born in rescue, Mash and Spud the adult males, Maxi an adult male and two younger boys born in rescue, and Star and Dust two adult females.
These gerbils are all in good health and extremely active. We recommend being prepared to split the larger group of girls at a later date as female groups can be more prone to declanning.

Pitch Rehomed
Pitch is a very shy young hamster who is proving a bit speedy as a pet for a young child. She is black with white paws and very friendly and active.

Pitch was reserved seconds after posting her picture by a frequent adopter. She left as soon as the two-week checks were successful and became very spoilt!
Further Details
Pitch is a very active, friendly and curious hamster. She is fast to handle and prone to sudden jumps and unpredictable movements. She should calm down with regular and confident handling and she is in excellent health.

Elsa and family Rehomed and Sanctuary
This group of 10 hamsters had been bought at an animal auction and then abandoned at someone's home. They were kept in a mixed group, so were stressed and overcrowded. We collected the group and took half to another rescue. The remaining 5 were split into separate cages, given medical attention, quarantined and screened for behaviour and pregnancy.

3 of these hamsters were able to finding loving new homes, to give them plenty of attention and enrichment.
2 of the group had health issues that meant they stayed here in Sanctuary.
Further Details
There was a mixture of characters in this family group, Elsa the oldest mum was a very strong character as was dad Christoph. All these hamsters were very underweight and needed extra attention to bring them up to good health. The smallest of the group, Ana, sadly died soon after rescue in Sanctuary. Christoph and two of his family were homed to separate loving homes and lived to good ages.
These hamsters are hybrids, so at increased risk of diabetes so needed careful weight and health monitoring. As they had some winter white in them Elsa and a daughter did noticable change coat colour during the winter months.
