Ginny Rehomed

Ginny was handed into us as she was too shy for her young owner and they were not able to give her the time she needed. She is a beautiful girl and young, so does need work with handling.

Syrian Hamster

Ginny went to an experienced home who were able to give her the time and attention she demands.

Further Details

Ginny had been kept in an unsuitable cage without a large enough wheel, so she is enjoying exploring her cage and wheel here. She loves running on her wheel and eats well. She is in good health and is responding well to regular handling sessions, she's adapted well to her new environment and is not showing excessive shyness. Her new owner will need to keep regular, short handling sessions to build her confidence.

Joey & Theo Homed

Joey and Theo are male fancy rats, found abandoned in a carrier in an alleyway in the rain. Thankfully they were found by a kind human who took them in and drove them to us as an emergency so we could get them urgent vet treatment. Sadly, they came in as a group of three, with their companion being severely underweight and suffering from neurological issues that resulted in them having to be put to sleep. Joey and Theo have had a course of antibiotics and Joey has been treated for some bad scratches to his head.

Joey and Theo, Fancy Rats

Joey & Theo have been successfully homed to an experienced rat home. Theo has some ongoing health issues that his new home is managing.

Further Details

Joey is a beautiful boy with dumbo ears and Theo is a top ear rat, they are full grown boys who are young adults. They are both building up weight and confidence and Joey's scratches have healed up nicely and he is starting to regrow the missing fur.

Understandably, both boys are somewhat possessive over food - it's important to offer them both food at the same time to avoid any potential conflict. They get on very well, but would definitely benefit from being in a larger group or 'mischief'! These boys are growing in confidence here, with Joey loving to hang out on a hammock and get your attention if you are nearby until you offer him food. Theo needs more coaxing to come out, but both boys have settled in to a busy household without excessive shyness.

Degu Family Rehomed and Sanctuary

This group of Degu comes from a large hoarder situation that involved multiple rescue input. They had been left to breed unchecked and had not been handled. They are a mixture of ages and sexes. We split by sex and after behaviour and health checks, they were successfully homed.

Degu

Small family groups were homed to experienced owners.

Some of this group stayed with us in Sanctuary due to ongoing health issues.

Further Details

These Degu have never been handled and are extremely nervous. They need work on building their confidence with an experienced owner. They will need plenty of time with calm, regular handling.

They have built weight back up and injuries have been treated here, so they are in good health. We'd like them to go in a mixture of ages, asd this tends to help with group confidence.

Heidi and Missy Rehomed

Heidi and Missy were a pair of female sugar gliders than came to us due to their owners health problems. These girls are in good health but are extremely shy of new people. They need experienced owners due to their specialist needs.

Sugar Gliders

Heidi and Missy were successfully homed to a very experienced home who could work on taming and provide suitable housing and diet.

Further Details

Heidi and Missy are very vocal girls, they will take some time to become accustomed to the new noises, smells and activities of a new home. They do crab often and will need a lot of work with building confidence and taming.

Sugar Gliders are very specialist marsupials and are expensive and time-intensive pets. They can be difficult to tame and require a complicated diet and a large habitat with additional heating. We have had other pairs and family groups handed in to us due to relocation and change of circumstances which have been successfully homed to experienced owners.
