Henrietta Rehomed

This gorgeous lady came to us in May 2012 as the owner needed to rehome but the only interest they had was for breeding. At two years old, it would be dangerous for Henrietta to now have a litter.

Henrietta the African Pygmy Hedgehog

Henrietta was homed to an experienced adult home that was able to work with her on her confidence with handling and allow her plenty of enrichment and attention. She loves live crickets and strokes behind the ears!

Further Details

Henrietta does ball up though not completely so does need work on her confidence with handling. She needs an adult home where she can get plenty of attention and handling. She shows no signs of aggression and loves to explore, she's very curious and fast.

Ruffle and Twist Rehomed

Ruffle and Twist were sold as child's pets and came to us when the owner realised their specialist needs. Multimammate mice do not make good pets for children, they are frequently bred as live food so understandably their temperaments can be shy and sometimes cage aggressive.

These girls are adapting well to a suitable, large enclosure that they cannot chew out of and escape. They are a little shy and will need work building their confidence with an experienced owner of exotics.

Multimammate girls

These girls were homed to an experienced owner who can work with them on taming and building confidence.

Further Details

Many of our Multi rescues have come from situations where they have been bred for food. We've placed them with experienced owners or those keen to research and learn. Many have gone to keep lone male mice company, as they cannot interbreed.

Ruffle and Twist need work on their handling as they can be prone to biting and showing signs of cage aggression. This isn't unusual for multimmate mice and can be worked on with patience, and tube-training is a good way of improving confidence.

Spiny Mice Sanctuary

This pair of dusky spiny mice came to us during the first lockdown from another rescue that was closing down. They are very healthy and active and extremely fast.

Spiny mice have more specialist needs than fancy mice and have a different temperament. They are much faster and harder to handle.

Dusky Spiny Mice

Due to their age and temperament this pair have become sanctuary residents.

Further Details

These boys are extremely fast, they love their nests and tubes, needing plenty of enrichment. They especially love chewing and making huge nests of bedding.

Cody and Roland Rehomed

These boys are young, healthy and friendly, and Cody is calm with handling. Roland will need his confidence worked with but both boys will take treats from hand.

Fancy Rats

Cody and Roland went to an experienced rat home that can give them plenty of enrichment and free-roaming time.

Further Details

Cody is a very friend rat with a lovely rex coat and Roland is a very curious chap who needs time to work out that you are safe. These boys have been very well cared for in their previous home and are seeking a rat-mad home where they can receive plenty of attention.
